This building replaced an existing school, by adaptating the DeRenne Middle School design. Extensive program modifications were made to accommodate a gymnasium and a large special education program. Provisions for the diverse curriculum and increased technology requirements led to internet computers in all classrooms, including special education, art, science, band and chorus. The facility is equipped with six technology based exploratory labs housing 15-30 computers. Satellite hubs are located throughout the building with the Media Center as the primary communications hub.
