The existing facility will be almost double the existing space (235,000 sf). It is designed to match the growing campus's new identity., and features a high-density automated storage and retrieval system. A single masted storage retrieval machine, controlled by an on-line computer integrated with the library’s computer system will maintain storage of 50% of the 1,200,000 volume collection. The estimated construction budget for the project facility is $17,400,000, with construction due to begin in 2004.
